Katrina Froome Naturopathy - FAQs
by Katrina FroomeAbout Consultations
What happens in an initial naturopathic consultation?
Your first consultation is a space to talk through your health story in detail — including symptoms, history, lifestyle, stress load, digestion, sleep, hormones and any past testing. From there, we begin to gently identify what your body may be communicating, and outline a personalised support plan tailored to your needs.
Do you see men as well as women?Yes. While my work focuses strongly on women’s health and nervous system support, I also see men and older teens on a case-by-case basis.
Do you see children?Yes — I offer gentle, family-centred support for children and teens experiencing digestive issues, immune challenges, anxiety, sleep changes and general imbalance.
Do you offer online appointments?Yes. Online consultations are available Australia-wide and internationally, and work beautifully for many people.
AppointmentsInitial consultations are longer (60 minutes, or 90 minutes for an extended consultation), giving us time to explore your health history in detail. Extended follow-up appointments (Report of Findings) are 60 minutes, while standard monthly follow-ups are 45 minutes and focus on supporting your progress and adjusting your treatment plan as needed.
Testing & Treatment
Do you recommend functional testing?
Often, yes. Functional testing — such as Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) or microbiome testing — is commonly prescribed to help understand underlying drivers of symptoms. Testing is always discussed with you so you can make an informed decision, and only recommended where clinically appropriate.
Do I have to do testing? No. Testing helps guide care, but we always consider your preferences, finances and priority needs.
Do you work alongside GPs and specialists?Absolutely. I value collaborative care and am happy to support any existing medical treatment or referrals you may already have.
Do you prescribe strict diets?
Only when clinically needed — and always in a realistic, compassionate way. The goal is balance, not restriction.
Will I need to take lots of supplements?I prefer simple, targeted prescribing — focusing on what is genuinely needed, not an overload of products. In some cases, you may require extra supplements, and this is based on your test results.
Areas of Support
What conditions do you support?
I commonly support digestive health concerns (including IBS and SIBO), women’s health and hormones, anxiety, nervous-system overload, fatigue, burnout, sleep disruption, post-viral depletion, mineral balance and skin concerns.
Do you help with perimenopause and menopause?Yes — this is a strong area of focus in my clinic.
Do you support anxiety and burnout?Yes. My work acknowledges the close connection between the nervous system, digestion, hormones and emotional wellbeing.
Practical Details
Do you accept private health or Medicare?
From the 1st April, 2026 - Private health rebates may be available depending on your fund. Medicare does not currently cover naturopathy in Australia.
What should I bring to my appointment?
Any recent test results, medications/supplements, and a rough idea of your health history can be helpful — but don’t worry if you don’t have everything on hand.
Where are you located?
I offer in-clinic consultations in Springfield Lakes and Highfields (Toowoomba) — as well as online consultations for clients across Brisbane, Ipswich, Queensland and Australia Wide.
Do you work internationally?
Yes — online consultations are available for overseas clients (time-zone dependent).
What is your cancellation policy?Appointments require 24 hours notice if you need to reschedule or cancel, so that the time can be offered to another patient. Fees will apply for late changes and no shows.
If you have a question that isn’t answered here, you’re always welcome to reach out. I’m happy to help you decide whether naturopathic care feels like the right next step for you or your family.
Body Balance Treatments — FAQ
What are Body Balance Treatments?
Body Balance Treatments are gentle, energy-based sessions designed to calm the nervous system and help the body shift out of stress, overwhelm or depletion. These sessions may incorporate elements of energy work, muscle testing, body awareness and relaxation techniques to support emotional and physical regulation.
Who are Body Balance Treatments suitable for? They may be especially supportive for women experiencing stress, anxiety, overwhelm, nervous-system fatigue, sleep disruption or emotional heaviness — or for those simply wanting to feel more grounded and centred.
Do Body Balance Treatments replace naturopathic care?
No — they are a supportive therapy that can sit alongside naturopathic care or be received on their own. Some people choose Body Balance Treatments as a nurturing reset between appointments.
What happens during a session?
Sessions are calm, quiet and deeply relaxing. You remain fully clothed and supported throughout. Many people describe feeling lighter, calmer and more settled afterwards.
Do I need to believe in energy healing for it to help?
Not at all. These treatments are offered from a grounded, compassionate space — focused on supporting nervous-system balance and emotional wellbeing.
Can children receive Body Balance Treatments?
Yes — sessions can be adapted for young people where appropriate, with a parent present.
Are online Body Balance Treatments available?
These sessions are offered primarily in-clinic. If you are interested in remote work, please contact me to discuss suitability.
How do I know if Body Balance Treatments are right for me?
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, emotionally drained, depleted or unable to switch off — and you’re longing for calm, restorative support — these treatments may be a beautiful addition to your wellbeing journey.
Every person arrives at a different stage in their healing journey. Whether you’re seeking naturopathic support, nervous-system regulation, or a gentle space to rest and reset — you’re welcome here.
